Kjære venner av Oslo Drag Festival,
Dette nyhetsbrevet gikk ut til medlemmer av Oslo Drag Festival og til abonnenter på vårt nyhetsbrev.
Festivalen nærmer seg med stormskritt, og vi gleder oss til å fylle SALT med drag fra torsdag 29. til lørdag 31. mai! Ja, det stemmer: Vi lader opp til festivalen med samtale, vorspiel, DJ og en lavterskel åpningsseremoni torsdag 29. mai. Opplegget starter kl. 19:00, men møt opp 18:00 ved Operaen for å få med deg performancen Out of Place, som finner sted i offentlige rom i Oslo.

Har du lyst til å bidra til gjennomføringen av festivalen? Oslo Drag Festival trenger fortsatt frivillige, for eksempel til akkreditering, inspisienter og artistansvarlig, unicorn (scenehjelp) og betjening av bruktmarkedet Dragtorget. Som frivillig får du mulighet til å delta i festivalen, og om vi får nok frivillige tilrettelegger vi for at de frivillige får se forestillinger de ønsker å få med seg når det er kapasitet.

Mye av festivalarbeidet bak kulissene går med på å skaffe sponsorer og søke støtteordninger. Vi har høye ambisjoner, men av og til får vi mindre støtte enn vi ønsker for å gjennomføre festivalen. Da vi også ønsker at mye av programmet skal være gratis, trenger vi også alternativer til billettinntekter. Derfor har vi i år også opprettet en Spleis, hvor alle pengene som samles inn går til å støtte dragartister som opptrer.

Dear friends of Oslo Drag Festival,
This e-mail goes out to members of Foreningen Oslo Drag Festival as well as those who have subscribed to our newsletter.
The festival is fast approaching, and we’re excited to fill SALT with drag from Thursday to Sunday! That’s right: We’re kicking off the festival with a talk, pre-party, DJ, and a low-threshold opening ceremony on Thursday, May 29. The event starts at 7:00 PM, but meet up at 6:00 PM by the Opera House to catch the performance Out of Place, which takes place in public spaces around Oslo.

Would you like to help make the festival happen? Oslo Drag Festival is still looking for volunteers, for example for accreditation, stage management, artist liaison, unicorn (stage crew), and running the second-hand market Dragtorget. As a volunteer, you get the chance to participate in the festival, and if we get enough volunteers, you have the opportunity to catch some shows want to attend.

Volunteering at Oslo Drag Festival 2025
A lot of the behind-the-scenes work for the festival involves finding sponsors and applying for grants. We have big ambitions, but sometimes we receive less support than we hope for. Since we also want much of the program to be free, we need alternatives to ticket income. That’s why we’ve also set up a Spleis (crowdfunding campaign) this year, where all funds raised go directly to supporting the drag artists performing.
